Judges 5:25 "He asked
water, and she gave him milk; she brought forth butter in a lordly dish."
An upgrade involving our
characters can take many forms. We can use it as a motivation for action—our character
wants a nicer house or a better life.
We use it to escalate the
problems facing our protagonist. Every time a problem is solved, it creates a
bigger one.
We can also use it when
outlining. Once we begin to list the adventures our heroes will face, we can
imagine something even worse at each plot point.
