Deuteronomy 13:3
"Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of
dreams: for the Lord your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the Lord
your God with all your heart and with all your soul."
Characters should show
growth by the end of the story. They need to have gone through a change.
One of the ways is for
them to start off with the wrong dream. They want something and spend the story
trying to get it, only to find that something else was better.
The wrong dream could also
be something like wanting revenge. The character might even get the
revenge—accomplish the goal—and not be satisfied until they learn forgiveness.
